This module is in development.
The Learning & Skills module is developing as a resource for all learning practitioners, strategists and funders interested in sustainable development or sustainability in the region (including researchers, academics and students).
The module is being overseen and promoted by the South West 'Learning for Sustainability Coalition' (click here for more on the Coalition, its membership and values).
The Coalition encourages learning for sustainability in two complementary ways:
(i) promoting links between the learning and sustainability agendas so that learners and educators have opportunities to gain new skills and access goods and services that will reduce our ecological footprint and negative social impacts;
(ii) building our capacity to think critically about and beyond the sustainability debate so that we can all make positive decisions without simply being told what to do.
The navigation on the right indicates some broad categories under which module resources can be housed and developed. You can suggest resources for the Learning & Skills module when you feedback along with sharing your ideas on 'learning & skills and sustainability' in the ExChange.
For background info on how sustainability links to learning & skills click here to view the Sustainability Learning & Skills Action Framework (one of the Shaper's ten action frameworks).
Shaper modules (specialist guidance for particular ‘activities’ in the South West) are being developed in response to demand and support from a number of regional agencies. If your organisation (or its partners) is interested in commissioning/ sponsoring a particular module please let us know when you feedback.
